Lorde, come cool with us
Dear Ella,
We live down the road from you in Milford (0620), we’ve probably seen each other at the mall or at the beach. Yep, we’re ‘shore thangs’ and Kiwis too.
That’s the cool thing about us Kiwis; for the size of us, we swing big. There was giving women the vote, scaling Everest, declaring the Nuclear Free Zone, that number one hit Royals, and now we’re keen to add: removing enough carbon to you know, keep our planet liveable.
We’ve read that when it came to writing Solar Power, you envisioned a utopia called the Island, we didn’t know this until writing you this letter, and now were convinced our visions crossed paths, perhaps it’s cos we live so close?
Our vision goes like this — welcome to the Islands of Cool, a group of carbon negative Islands floating on the blockchain, it’s one mad art experiment where limitless creativity meets human innovation to completely reimagine climate action.
The mission is simple: form a digital place of unexpected environmental significance for our physical one — every single piece from Islands of Cool will exist to fund real world carbon removal and cool our planet.
We’re about to release Island One, hand drawn by kiwi artist T.Wei and broken into 100 smaller pieces, each piece removing 1 tonne of carbon and designed with royalties to continue sucking carbon as they’re traded.

Seeing as we both like Islands and our planet, we’ve got a piece especially for you. It even has a wee Solar Power pin on it. We ask nothing specific in return, but there is a seat at the table and it has your name on it.

If you choose not to take our gift, it’ll be stink. The NFT will be burned, sequestering the carbon, but leaving the piece allocated to you blank forever... We will continue the fight, just as if you were with us, so either way we will go on, but together we’d be unstoppable.
Come cool with us.
Much love,
Co-Founders CPC
